The USDA Rural Development Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program (MPPEP) Phase 4 is now accepting applications to support meat and poultry processors seeking to expand processing capacity and strengthen the U.S. supply chain.
The program is designed to encourage competition, improve supply chain resiliency, and expand local market opportunities, with a particular focus on supporting the American beef industry. To qualify, facilities must primarily process cattle, though awarded funds may also support meat and poultry processing activities at the facility.
Grant opportunities include:
- Processing Expansion Projects ranging from $50,000 to $2 million with a required 50% match.
- Simplified Equipment-Only Projects ranging from $10,000 to $250,000 with a required 25% match.
Eligible applicants include for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, producer-owned cooperatives, Tribes, and Tribal entities that currently process cattle and operate under federal or qualifying state inspection programs.
Application Deadline: August 7
